Sounds like they didn't get the gist of your letter. I'd write them again. Send a new letter explaining the situation. Send them a copy of the letter THEY sent you (so they'll know) and ask them to remove the fraud alert. {on a side note, some people think that the stolen ID flag is a good thing, but it makes it SUPER hard for you to apply for credit in your own name. you have to practically jump through hoops of fire to prove that you are you. it's a headache that you don't want, so ask them to reverse that}.
All right. I think you're requesting the wrong thing from the wrong people. The credit bureaus are not able to do any research for your accounts. They only report what was told to them by other sources. They are not going to be able to resolve your medical bill issue. Contact your insurance company (of the doctor's office/hospital, whatever the case may be) and ask them to research the issue. Once they resubmit the claim and resolve the issue, ask for a letter or a receipt stating that the account was placed on your report erroneously. Send a copy of THAT to the CRAs and then they will be able to update your report.
I hope that helps!
